You do not Understand

The statement ”You do not Understand” is one of the most overused and abused statements in the English language. It is most of used to dismiss the comments, ideas, and inputs of those the person making the pronouncement. It is the statement of a superior to an inferior who’s opinion has been deemed to worthless.

Quit often, all too often, the one making such a statement is wrong and so full of him or herself that, in truth, they do not want to entertain any input that varies from their preconceived ideas.

Therefore, I am very cautious when I use the term ”You do not Understand.” Obviously some do but the vast majority do not understand the issue I am referring to. That is losing a spouse after many years, especially if one considers that spouse their life partner.

There is only one damned way to understand. Thank God most people do not understand.

I appreciate the support. I appreciate the sympathy. I appreciate the love. But you do not understand.
