Vegetarianism

This is the practice of human beings whereby they abstain from consuming meat and animal by-products and, instead, eat a plant-based diet.  Whereas Vegans choose not to consume any animal products, most vegetarians choose to consume dairy products and/or eggs.  Careful consideration must be given by vegetarians to some foods that are have animal products in them; specifically some forms of gelatin and cheeses made with natural rennet. Some choose to become vegetarian or vegan for health reason and some do so for ethical reasons.  There are also some forms of semi-vegetarians as well that consume some forms of meat on an occasional basis; usually fish or chicken.  Fortunately, given the modern availability of dietary supplements there are no real health issues if one chooses to follow either a strict vegetarian or vegan diet if one is careful.
