To Conservatives

Unlike many of you I will not and have not unfriended you either in Facebook or the real world because you support Trump.  I may make an exception to this statement if I discover that you share his ideas and ideals related to race, sex, religion, or ethnicity.  These are not ideals that I can or will support regardless of your professed politics.

For the rest of you I imagine that you are supporting him because you are a political Conservative and believe he represents the same Conservative ideals you hold dear.  This, despite the fact that he has openly done such things as befriending the leaders of Russia and North Korea that Conservatives (and most Liberals) find to be an anathema to freedom such a very short time ago.  You also have to ignore his openly devious megalomania, narcissistic personality disorder, and lack or human compassion not to say his daily willingness to make self-serving false statements (lies) to keep supporting him.

Even with all of this, I will not unfriend you as so many have done me in both Facebook and the real world.  However, I will never take your opinion on any real issue with any more than casual polite interest.  I will then generally dismiss what you say.  Why?  Because you have prostituted your values for some esoteric belief that Trump in the White House in better that the alternative.  This despite the known flaws that include definitive evidence of mental illness.

I admit that this is not new.  Conservatives chose to ignore (and still ignore) Ronald Regan’s Alzheimer ’s disease for the last 5-6 years he was in office.  However, I will give some allowance there, as there was a concerted cover-up at the time.  This time there is no cover-up.  It is right in your face.
