The Wall

So much has said about the wall the Little Boots is trying to force down our throat that I have really did not want to talk very much about it, but I just cannot keep quiet about it, so here is my two bits. I am only addressing the stupid wall itself and not immigration in general because I could get into a whole different can of worms (I will do this later – do not despair).

First before I go any further, I had someone I know who posted on FB a joke that said “Trump is not the first to build a wall. The Chinese did it and they called it ‘Great’!”. I and most others responded to the post as if it were not a joke, even though I believe they knew it was a joke. Why? Because the issue is just not funny,

So here are some of my thoughts:

  • I heard Little Boots promise that Mexico would pay for the wall. I do not care what the idiot says now. I heard it. So when he says otherwise, he is lying again. This time we have the asshole on camera lying.
  • I see that the composition of the wall is a compromise. So we have a compromised wall. It is not going to take long for that sub-par sucker to be compromised. Once again we are stuck with paying for something that we know will not meet its base requirements.
  • The main reason for the damned-ass wall in the first place is the perception that we can keep “them” away from “us”. That we can make America great if we do not have these terrible people coming across the borders stealing from us, living on welfare, and taking our goods and services. The protection is no where near as important as it is political expediency. I know that people on the border think that the wall is necessary and they do cite criminal activity. Some of the truth to this is the criminal activity is not caused by the illegal immigrants but by the criminals.
  • The wall will not work. It is only a matter of time before people will find ways to go over, under, around, and through the stinking wall. Given the sub-par construction, it will not be as long as it could be. BTW: this is what finally defeated the Great wall.
  • Harkening back to the references to the Great wall, have you ever noticed the little “buildings” every so far on the top of said wall? That was because even building that wall did not keep people out by itself.  Even as big and imposing as it is, it was not enough. They put guards along the wall to repel people. And, guess what? They did not turn them back, they killed them. If our wall is to be successful, we will have to mount towers. Why? To keep people from going over, under, around, and through said wall. And, guess what, detention and return (catch and release) has not worked so are the Little Boots’ minions going to go back in time and add “shoot to kill” to their repertoire?
