I have recently spent more time on freeways between cities than has been my practice for some time and I have discovered a new trend.
There are a whole bunch of drivers who get in the middle lane, set their speed control to about 1-2 miles below the posted speed limit and cruise down the highway.
While I am sure that the highway patrol will pat these idiots on the back, they cannot be totally ignorant of the actual traffic flow passing them both on the left and right because they are blocking traffic. They are the slowest traffic going down the freeway. Now I know that by sitting in the middle lane they do not have to worry their pretty little heads about merging traffic and other vehicles wanting to move in and out, they have become pilons. Heck, even the trucks with speed regulators are passing them. The problem is that these trucks can only going a little bit faster, so they too are slowing traffic down.
If you idiots insist on sitting in the middle lane with your cruise control on, at least go the speed limit. But here’s a thought: go the speed of the traffic flow!
