Sitting Down With An Anti-Vaxer

I know I cannot let this go because it, to me, this is so damned important.

I wish I could sit down with an anti-vax proponent.

I have heard such things as this the first step to Communism, that this violates personal freedom, that it violates our rights, that it is an unproven vaccine and shouldn’t be imposed on everyone.

I admit that I am biased. I had a loved one who was immune compromised. Because of her condition, she got the vaccine rather early. But, even when the vaccine became universally available, she was still at high risk because the people who want to exercise their “rights” we’re willing and able to KILL her if she went out in public. This was scary and disheartening; especially when you look at the people in this group and quickly realize it was a Conservative political agenda that people were willing to risk their lives, their loved ones lives, and complete strangers lives to make their point.

Every day I see the death toll rising and it is almost completely due to anti-vax people.

Yes, I wish I could sit down with one of them, preferably one that had a reasonably IQ and didn’t think Trump won, and see if s/he could explain themselves in a reasonably way that made on lick of sense.

So far, every posting and public argument by the anti-vaxers have been specious.

My argument to one of the very few I have met still holds water. At this point in time, we have over 200,000,000 people who have proved you wrong.

I will not get such a chance, basically because they are long on rhetoric but are just political robots, afraid to think for themselves, and at the end of the day just plain stupid cowards.

I know that that they say you cannot have meaningful dialogue when you call the other side stupid, but I looked in the dictionary and they are the classic definition of stupid; having access to the facts and chosing to ignore those facts.

I know you can’t fix stupid, but failure to attempt to do so makes the problem worse and makes them think they won.
