Scott Baio

I do not know a whole lot about Scott Baio the person.  I know that he has had a long and somewhat successful career as a relatively lightweight actor.  I do not mean to be offensive here, just referring to the roles he has played have not been those that have challenged anyone for major dramatic awards.

I have only recently been made aware of his conservative political leanings and his rather snarky remarks that seem to reflect the same level of insensitivity and lack of compassion that we see with Trump.  Thus I was not surprised to see that he was endorsing Trump at the Republican National Convention.  I also thought that it was somewhat telling that he was the relatively only “celebrity” endorser of Trump, but that was another issue altogether.

I never dissed him for his beliefs and do not do so now although anyone who reads my posts knows that I do not find them viable or palatable – but I would not post about him for that reason.

Why this post then?  Because he could not help himself from being mean-spirited.  With the death of one of his former costars he thought that instead of commiserating with her family, her friends, and her fans – or – failing that keeping his mouth shut, he felt it was necessary to speculate quickly and publicly that her death was due to her lifestyle choices, specifically drugs.

Oh, he was quick to backtrack when it was discovered that Erin Moran died of Stage 4 Cancer, but when is he going to realize that when you open your mouth and spew hatred you can hurt.  I tend to think that this may be related to his politics – hmmm?
