In the run-up to the election, after it was obvious to all but the most ardent Bernie Believers that Hillary Clinton was the de facto Democratic candidate for the presidency I had a Facebook conversation with someone.
On the off chance that he may read this, I will not embarrass him by identifying him. He was an extremely ardent Bernie Believer who, frankly, was disenchanted with the whole process because his choice was not going to win. I was trying to convince him that he needed to be realistic and realize that the main goal now was to stop Trump.
My main argument was that Trump was a damned Nazi, on a par with Hitler. This person’s response was that if Trump was Hitler, then Hillary was Stalin. My response was “read a book”.
You see his response rhetorical. At least I hope so because no one can be that damned stupid can they? While mine was not.
I am sure that many people who heard me expound on Trump being a Nazi during the political campaign (and since) have thought I was rhetorical as well. More than once, this was stated to me. I was not. I am not.
In the last week, it seems that he has removed his guise and decided to prove me right. I get no satisfaction from being accurate rather than rhetorical. I would rather be the rhetorical man crying wolf when no wolf existed. But sadly all I can say is
CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!!!
