Oh Bernie

I know that I posted pretty much the same thing on FaceBook but I would be remiss if I did not expound on my on vanity site a little bit about Bernie and his recent successful run for the Senate in Vermont.  I knew about this but I kind of did not think about it much at the time because, quite frankly, I expected it and did not give a rats ass anyway.

As anyone who cares to look into it Bernie Sanders was successfully re-elected as Senator for Vermont as an Independent, not a Democrat.  And why not you ask?  Hmmm!  Interesting question.  First of all, he promised to remain a Democrat after the primary process in 2016, didn’t he?  Why yes, yes he did.  Secondly, he was nominated by the Democratic Party in Vermont for the Senate, so that was not an issue either.  Why then?  That is a very good question.  Not a question of the ages, I grant you.  After all it is fairly obvious.  It is not in Bernie’s personal best interest.  His promise to support the Democratic Party, his promise to support the two-party system, his promise to be part of the solution – bullshit.  As I suspect much of his rhetoric needs to be looked at now.

I have been suspicious of much of his platform from the very beginning.  I am trying to reinvent the past.  I have always suspected him of being “all hat and no cattle” from the moment that I found out his (in)famous $15/hour was in truth a 7 year fazed in plan which was, repeat after me, bullshit.  Most of his followers did not hear that.  They heard $15/hour and started figuring out how to spend it when Bernie became President.

And I wondered how he was able to win caucuses when he couldn’t win primaries.  I still wonder.  No one has looked into this but I suspect that one would find some interesting tales if they did – and they would not be fairy tales, if you get my drift.

Finally (and do not take this lightly, because I do not) keep in mind who benefited most by Bernie’s Presidential run.  Think about it.

The only saving grace is that by “becoming Independent” again, we probably will not see him on the 2020 campaign trail.  At least I hope not.
