Obvious Admission

I saw a license plate cover that was, when you think about it, rather pathetic.  The plate cover said “Vietnam Era Veteran”.

Think about it.  This person is saying that he (admittedly I am making a supposition here, but as the person driving the rig was male, a valid reach) was in the service during the period that the United States was involved in the Vietnam War.  As this includes the years of 1954 through 1973, that includes a lot of people who never ever were anywhere near Southeast Asia.

In fact, the very nature of this plate cover admits it.  I will give the dude some kudos in the fact that he was not pathetic enough to rewrite his personal history to pretend he was a real veteran of the Vietnam War, I have to say it is kind of pathetic.  Think about it.  He served in a time-frame where the United States was involved in an armed conflict (translate into war) and he was not involved in it.  But roll forward a few decades and he feels the need to associate himself with that conflict even though he was not there.  Why?  Because oh these many years later, there is some cache in being a Vietnam Veteran and this dude wants to pathetically bask in it.  Best guess: he was in the National Guard.

BTW: does it surprise anyone that his rig is rocking pro-gun stickers in his rear window?

  • Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your content seem to be running off the screen in Opera. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with internet browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon. Many thanks
