Laws of Man, Laws of God

Why is it that the majority of the teachings of most church/synagogue/ mosque/etc.  are difficult or impossible to find anywhere in the Sacred Text of your choice?

I have an opinion (surprise, surprise).  It seems that there are Laws of God and there are Laws of Man.  That is fine and good.  Where the problem occurs is when Man (or Woman) tells you s/he is speaking for God and, by extension, expanding on the Word of God.

Now, the first inclination is that they are just envoking God to give their own petty thoughts and ideas cache when they otherwise would not have them.  And in most cases, I think this is the case.  Occasionally, and only occasionally, the messenger may truly believe they age speaking for God.  While I will grant the possibility, a quick review of the messenger probably gives your all of the evidence your need.

So, while you should obey the Laws of God, be real careful about the Laws of Man.  You may not be doing God’s Work, despite what you age vient told.
