Who said I can’t learn, or it takes forever?
I have been against making Juneteenth an official holiday because it is a holiday for only a percentage of society. That was last week.
Now, seeing the joy it is bringing people says it must be the right thing. Plus this is not the only holiday that is for just a percentage of Americans (Christmas anyone?).
So I decided to STFU and enjoy, respect, and, yes, celebrate Juneteenth as the important holiday that it truly is and should be.
If one does a little reflection, it should have been celebrated in 1865 and every year since.
