I am so damned tired of some self-appointed food critic on these cooking shows who state that the dishes at a given restaurant as “so authentic”.
One look at the person, listening to them speak, you know damned well they have never been to the country where the food originated from. No way, no how, not in a million damned-ass years.
How do they know how authentic it is. They do not. Why do they say it. To get on TV of course. They do not have anything really creative to say so they say this and hope they look good enough to be in the photo spot. Now occasionally there is a person who does know the difference but like the boy who cried wolf, how can you tell.
If you ain;t been there, if you did not grow up in that ethnic environment – shut the hell up.
