Irish Cuisine

I was watching a cooking show that was featuring Irish cuisine.  I love Ireland.  I love Irish history.  Therefore, it occurred to me that the truth of the matter is that, for the most part, Irish cuisine is relatively new.

Why?  Because up to 100 years ago, the average Irishman was a subsistence farmer and their cuisine, if it could be called that, consisted primarily of boiled potatoes.  I am not stereotyping and I am not exaggerating.  it is a fact.  All you have to do is check it out.  The Irish cuisine we see today is not the cuisine of the average Irish person of 100 years ago and, in fact, is more than likely modern and not based on tradition.

  • First of all I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not
mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing.
I have had trouble clearing my mind in getting my thoughts
out. I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply
just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips?
    Thanks!
