Health Care

I see a lot of people, mainly Republicans, who object to mandated health care. Here’s the rub.

I worked for a company that provided health care. Based upon the type of company it was, and my personal experience, I would say that it had a higher-than-average number of Republican/Conservatives in its employ.

I can tell you that every time the company, as companies are wont to do, reduced the coverage or increased the employee’s out-of-pocket expense all hell broke loose. Everyone considered it a benefit of employment, as I guess it was. Despite the fact that many companies were cutting these benefits to the bone in order to improve the bottom line.

But here is the thing: no matter what the person’s political bent was, I never once saw one damned person refuse health care unless they had a spouse/significant other who had better care.

You see, I do not think these idiots are against health care, they just do not want to pay for it. But watch out when they get sick or injured. They are not going to quietly die in the weeds because they do not have health care. They will burden society with their needs and feel no shame in expecting it as their right.
