I honestly think that if gladiatorial games were still legal, people would pay to watch them. In fact, I think that the pay-for-view money would be astronomical.
I also honestly think that, unlike the case in history, they would not need to use slaves for gladiators. There would be sufficient volunteers to fill the gladiatorial roles, even if they knew they were going to fight to the death.
