Our government needs fixing!
Proof: Mitch McConnel & Rand Paul are very powerful Senators. Both are Senators from Kentucky.
Mitch the Bitch is the Senate Minority Leader (former Majority Leader) and has dictated policy for the whole flipping country since 2015 and has been in the Republican leadership since 2003.
Rand Paul is senior ranking member of the Senate Small Business Committee and felt his cache was strong enough to run for President in 2016.
Why do I point these dudes out as examples of needs to fix the government. The yahoos are powerful, extremely powerful. Yet they represent a state that represents 1.4% of the population.
Hell that is like a poll from Phoenix’s or Boston’s metropolitan area dictating to the country.
I find that troubling. I find it especially troubling that the Senate leadership is being dictated, in large part, by an entrenched Senator from a small state who’s significance in the US worldview would be insignificant if all was equal.
(Apologies to Kentucky, but if it is any consolation, I live in such a state as well – Oregon).
