It may be just me but I cannot think of a viable reason for not recording the DNA profile for every single person everywhere.
There is the obvious possibility of using the DNA information to possibly filter out/in people because of genetic propensities or maladies, but I am not talking about this at all. This would not be allowed. Just the profile would be stored.
Could it cause some problems with parentage, relationships, etc. Yes it could. But the benefits would outweigh all of the negatives. Think about it.
No more unknown victims. No longer any Jane or John Does. No longer any unidentified assailants.
Big Brother, you say. I say bullshit. Right now, if you join the military, take a public job, register for a firearm permit, or a driver’s license in some states you fingerprints are recorded. No one I know thinks that is Big Brother. Nor is it Big Brother when, wherever the source of the fingerprint comes from, said fingerprint identifies a missing person or a perpetrator of a crime.
So, I say, DNA for all.
