I am convinced that people may have heard of the word courtesy but do not know what the heck it means.
To compound the problem, if the happen to be curious, the fact that they may be only semi-literate when they try to look it up, either with the dictionary or using the internet, they spell it with a “K” and cannot find it anywhere so, without knowing what the heck it means, cannot practice it.
