We are becoming more aware every day that the Russian government was actively involved in manipulating the 2016 election, specifically to garner support for Donald Trump and against Hillary Clinton.

We know of anti-Hillary actions anonymously, anti-Hillary sources, from pro-Trump sources,  from pro-Bernie sources, and from sources purportedly to be any or all of the above.

Here is a thought that is supported by the data:

Suppose the Russkies decided that they wanted The Donald to be their President of the United States.  What to do, what to do?  Get rid of Hillary.  How to do this.

Brush of an old Socialist who is kind of flaky and something of a talk show darling.  Move him to the Democratic party and have him announce his candidacy for president.  Give him a couple of rallying cries ($15 minimum wage, anyone) and send him on the road.

But wait: there is no way that the rank-and-file voter is going to jump on this band wagon.  His liberal, socialist, story is not going to fly with anyone except the younger voter.  What to do, what to?  Aha, the perfect solution.  Make him a viable candidate without actually have him win the voters.  Go after the caucuses.  You can organize the young student voters who have the time to go to caucuses.  You can get your 5th columnists to secretly augment their ranks,  You can hire some help if necessary.  Why not; the caucuses represent such a small amount of voters, you can win a state with just a few votes.

You cripple the real candidate during the primary season.  Then, if you really want to deal another blow, make him a thorn in the side by having him fail to concede when all is lost.  Have him defer his concession until the convention.  That way the real candidate cannot really focus on Donald Trump as soon as she should.

At the same time toss a whole lot of lies on Hillary, including from the purported Bernie camp.

Wonder if that scenario would work?
