I have gotten more than a little flack about my stance on Global Warming
Let me Clarify
Yes we are going through Climate Change and it is real, damned real!
I just do not trust the scientists have a handle on the cause or solution.
When they can tell me why:
- they pivoted from “nuclear winter” to “global warming” in a heartbeat with no real evidence, I will listen.
- they have never used their models to explain the ice ages, or their ending for that matter, in their climate projections. Definitely hydrocarbons could not have been a major contributing factor.
- using those explanations, how do scientists explain the Sahara Forest becoming the Sahara Desert?
- I have heard that we were in a mini-ice age that ended in the mid-1800’s. This is about the time we were taking accurate temperature readings. Are you really surprised that they are rising from that benchmark?
- scientists say the ozone layer is growing. Yep, it is. At least from the time it has been measured. Show of hands; how many scientists are willing to prove what size it was before they started measuring it.
- More examples could be provided but the picture should be clear now. Scientists are guessing more than projecting. What should be merely a WAG has become a ”scientific” analysis of our future.
In short, I agree that climate change is real. Where I disagree is what people have an influence on. Yes we pollute. Yes that doesn’t help. Yes fixing those things make things a whole hell of a lot better; especially when it comes to living and breathing. Yes our actions save even worse travesties on our environment.
So, what is my problem?
I am not sure we have much to do with influencing the climate change, other than the impact of our growing population on the natural resources of the planet. I think it is a whole lot bigger than we are. I think our egos are getting in the way of us developing ways to deal with the inevitable consequences of the climate change.
Yes; water will be cleaner, air will be cleaner and easier to breath, but climate change will go on as if you had done nothing; as if you did not make a difference.
Because you do not matter.
