Alone?

I see them promote the heck out the “Alone” series on the History Channel. If you survive alone for 100 days in the wilderness, you get $1 Million. They say “no one has ever done it” (exclamation marks implied). Now really. I would bet that there are dozens, if not hundreds of dudes and dudeens out the same wilderness areas who would, if they have TV’s be throwing things at the self-same TV’s right about now saying such things as “where my million bucks” and “where were you 20 (or 30 or 50) years ago?”.

I also bet that these real wilderness people do not have the benefit of a fall back emergency signaling device (bat signal) if they really got it trouble, like I am sure these TV survivalists obviously do – even if they do not have a camera crew, which means they are good at staging those perfect shots – right?

Of course this wouldn’t play well with their ratings now would it?
