a little prospective

You know I have to admit that, even though I am a Liberal, there is a place for Conservative prospective. Like anything too much of any direction will cause problems. And Conservatism needs to be in place from time to time in order to settle things down.

Ironically, Liberalism is usually associated with a political point of view. From my prospective, it is not. Liberalism for me is the willingness to look at things as they are and be willing to improve them. Not be willing to be satisfied with the way things as they are. Specifically, the main focus of my view of Liberalism is that there must be an endeavor to improve to lot of our fellow man.

As I said, a little Conservatism may be good from time-to-time. After all one can go off on a tangent if not held in check. The problem I have with Conservatism is that Conservatism is about negativism. Think about it.

Conservative is about stopping stuff from happening. It is about stopping people from doing things. Banning actions that some deem to be bad, regardless of the reality. They want to force people to walk a thin line of adherence to their point of view. Whether it be religion, politics, marriage, sexual activity, or whatever you can name they are not satisfied with expressing their point of view, they want to legally enforce it. The irony is that I often share some of their points of view, I just do not think my opinion should be law.

Another thing about Conservatism is that there is not a single example of Conservatives in power whereby they do anything to protect people. When it comes to a choice between people and business, business wins. That includes work hours, child labor laws, worker safety, social security, Medicare, or Health Care. I could go on but you get a picture. The bottom line is that Conservatives fought vehemently against all of these.

I believe it is endemic that we should do our best to help people. Thus I cannot help but be a Liberal.

The irony to me is in the form of religion. I was raised haphazardly as a Christian and have been a infrequent church attendee as an adult. However, when I look at the Bible and remember my teachings I feel that the teachings of Christ tells me that I am on the right path in supporting people above business. These teachings I remember and review so often seem to teach me that I should do everything to support the things that prospective and oppose those attitudes that put down and restrict the lives of people. In other words, reject Conservatism and embrace Liberalism. Why is this an irony. In America, Christianity embraces Conservatism. I am at a loss to understand why. I really am. This is not rhetoric.

Even more ironic to me is the universal support that evangelical Christianity gives to Trump. His actions and lifestyle epitomizing everything that these people have rails and preaches against – at least until he took office.
